Liquid1Liquid2The Central Victorian Invertebrate Collection was also established around 1956 by biology students from La TrobeUniversity in Bendigo and totals around 60,000 specimens. The material in this collection includes Scorpions, Centipedes, Millipedes, Crustaceans and many other Phyla collected throughout the Central Victorian Region.

This collection primarily contains liquid preserved specimens in glass vials. In the future, the National Institute of Entomology will transfer this material into proper liquid vial cabinets and the collection will be incorporated into its own seperate database. A portion of this collection also includes specimens mounted onto microscopic glass slides and a special storage arrangement is also planned for this material in the future.
