NIE Large 2The National Institute of Entomology is a Not for Profit Organisation responsible for the curation and study of its held entomological collections and aims to develop these valuable resourses for the use of Researchers, Taxonomists, Students and Members of the Public.

It is the custodian of the Central Victorian Regional Insect Collection (C.V.R.I.C), Dr Russell George Wilkinson Collection (R.G.W.C) and several other collections including the NIOE Research Reference Library.

Current and Previous Research Projects include:

Dr Bert Candusio: Coleoptera of Papua New Guinae.
Dr Jenny Shield: The Zodariidae Spiders of Central Victoria.
Ms Kylie McGenniskin: Australian Mantid Ootheca Morphology.
Dr Jenny Shield: Arachnids of Central Victoria.
Mr Michael Palmer: Invertebrate Survey of Red Hill, Victoria.
Ms Elanor Mahon: Statistical Analysis of invertebrate species diversity of Red Hill, Vicoria.
